Carmel Valley Ranch

Living in bay area and looking for a fun family getaway? Look no further than Carmel Valley Ranch Resort. The 500 acre resort in Carmel Valley has something for adults and kids alike. We stayed at the Hilltop Garland Suite which had a beautiful view of the Golf course. Kicked off the getaway with dinner Friday night at the Valley Kitchen which had a plenty of kid friendly options. The food was great and the highlight for the kids was roasting marshmallows by the poolside. The Hershey’s bars and graham crackers just added to the fun.

The weekend went by in a blur… While there was options for half a day and full day kids camp, we decided to hang out as a family. Saturday we had some “chatting with the chickens” followed by the “Bee Experience”. My 6 and 8 year old enjoyed learning about honey bees and the honey making and had some interesting questions for the bee keepers.

The kids and the dad enjoyed some pool time while I tried to squeeze in some quality time at the spa to get some quality “me” time. 🙂

On Sunday, the kids took a silk screening class – which they thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to a night-time incident of me stubbing/ breaking my toe, we could not explore the beautiful trails. I am sure, the dad would have enjoyed some quality time at the Golf course. Well, may be sometime soon.

As kids, my parents used to take us vacations in southern India and I have very wonderful memories of those travel experiences with my family. I want to share that love of travel and exploration with my kids as well and hope that they gain a better understanding of the world we live in. Enjoyment of good food is something that I share with my husband. Every weekend we try to explore our neighborhoods and diverse cuisines that are available right here in a 50 mile radius in the Silicon Valley.
